Looking for Ideas for this project #diy #projectideas

For those of you who are new to this blog my husband and I bought a 1800's house that was a foreclosure to fix up while we live in it. It was paid off while he was still in Iraq, ready for him to begin working on it when he came home. He came home with injuries and was medically discharged.  That was something  we did not expect and it made it hard for him to work on the house. He has good days and bad days with his back and neck injuries. It has been quite the project.  Due to his injuries we decided to get a loan to complete the project and hire contractors. This is the new entryway. It used to be our dining room but was way too small so will now be an entrance. It will have laminate flooring that is light oak colored and of course the drywall will have  tape and mud this week after it is finished being hung.  In the mean time I am at the point to look for ideas on decorating it. I want it to have something for kids to hang coats back packs and some sort of bulletin board for our menu and weekly plans. Keep in mind I want spots for 10 people. (8 children) My color theme is Black White and Red The counter tops in the next room
(kitchen) will be Black.

If you want to get ideas for your project link up with us. This is a brand new link up so I am starting it out at keeping it up for 2 weeks the first time until more people find us.

I'm not a great at decorating but when I do I like to use some Feng Shui. I have used tips in my home, that I found online, and you can feel the difference in the "energy" hope that doesn't sound too cheesy!

Not to cheesy. It is very relaxing and totally changes your attitude to be in a relaxing environment

When I read about your project, I immediately got a budget picture in my head. You could get larger wooden picture frames {either new & uniform OR an eclectic collection and paint them all the same color}. Take out the glass, and on the inside wooden panel, paint it with black, chalk board paint for messages, etc. At the bottom, add a hook or even two for hanging coat and back pack. Under each frame could be an inexpensive cube {you can get them at walmart and other stores at back to school time} that they can both sit on to put shoes on and that they can put their shoes, gloves and hats in. I see a uniform row. That is a budget idea.

Oh I see what you are saying that is neat, easy and cheap. Thanks!
